Another Bradford woman has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a clothes shop at the age of 40.

Nadia Manzoor has longed for a clothes shop, but life always managed to get in the way of her dreams.

Now with her children all grown up, Nadia has set up her business ‘Diamond Fashionz’ in the plaza, selling ready-made South Asian clothes and accessories.

“It’s been really exciting, and I’ve really enjoyed doing this.

“My children pushed me to do this because I’ve always been talking about opening my own shop, but I didn’t want to be away from them, but now they’re older, they don’t need me there as much.

“Both my son and daughter help me out and we had a really positive turnout on the opening day.”

Nadia had an offer for the first 30 customers, who would all receive a free pair of clothes with their purchase.

“Within three hours I’d already sold to 30 people, so it’s going well.”

Being one of seven sisters, Nadia’s father was a pivotal player in her dream to launch her own business.

“In the past, I’ve had lots of jobs, but my dad wanted us all to have our own business and he encouraged me to chase this dream, but sadly he isn’t here anymore to see it as he passed away a year ago.”

A teary-eyed Nadia said: “I wish he could have seen my shop and I know he would have been happy that I finally did it.”

Nadia is ready to make her father proud and make her business a success.
